TL;DR: Preventing alchemists from using their own extractors cube and scroll, specifically is reasonless, and it would save time and effort if alchemists could use the extractors they worked to make.

Take a piece of level gear and extract it, I would think you'd get some from that. I've never extracted something that high, but I extract for Intermediate Crystals all the time. Ok thanks. So it's under the alchemy profession. For a small fee, you can extract your items without gaining fatigue or having the alchemy profession. Just make sure you channel surf a bit to find the cheapest price. User Info: Linkhunter For Alchemists, extracting doesn't cost fatigue and it doesn't give mastery either.
